The main focus of the implementation of digital technologies in the Eurasian Economic Union is aimed at creating favorable conditions for trade both within the integration association and with partners from third countries.
The EAEU and the EEC are taking specific steps to digitalize trade processes, said Vahagn Kazaryan, Director of the Department of Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the press service of the Commission reports.
He spoke about the details of this process during the session “Development of Digitalization on the Way Forward – Support for Institutional Initiatives” within the framework of the 11th Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum (APTFF), held in Samarkand under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

The session, with the participation of representatives of the Universal Postal Union, the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (CAREC Institute), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), discussed innovations and initiatives from organizations involved in the development and support of digitalization for the implementation and further promotion of digital technologies in sustainable supply chains.
